The cost will primarily depend on the length of the book, i.e. the number of words, as this determines the number of pages, and the number of copies to be printed

Factors that affect the cost
- The format in which the inside text is supplied, i.e. the way in which it has been typed in and saved. See the Preparation section for guidance on how best to prepare your book for printing.
- The application program that you have used, e.g. Microsoft Word.
- The number of proofs required, i.e. we assume that you are sending your absolutely final draft, which we then import and layout directly into the final page arrangement. If however you start to make alterations and/or corrections to the text on seeing the pre production proof this may significantly increase the cost.
- The number of photographs to be included (if any).
- The number of maps or drawings (if any).
Typically the cost of printing will be in the range from £2.65 per book to £15.00 per book. To get a more accurate guide to the cost you will need to know how many pages your book will fill when printed, and you will have to decide how many books you are going to order.
How many pages will my book fill?
To find out the approximate price for printing your book you will have to work out how many pages long it will be. To do this use the application program in which you created the book (such as Microsoft Word) to tell you how many words are in the complete document. Then divide this by 325 words per page to get the number of text pages that will be in the finished book. Next add 6 extra pages to allow for an inner title page, Acknowledgements, publishing information, dedications, Preface and Contents. You will now have an accurate guide as to the total number of inside pages that will be in your finished book.
What will it cost?
When you have worked out the number of pages in your book you can then enter the table below to get the approximate cost per book. As you can see from the table, the price per book increases with more pages, and decreases with longer print runs. For example if your book is 200 pages long and you would like to have 300 copies printed the price per book will be £6.59.

Do I have to have all the books printed at the same time?
Because of the nature of printing you will only get the lower unit costs shown for larger print quantities if the entire quantity is printed in one go. Of course, if you find that you would like a re-run then we would be happy to print this for you and the cost will be a bit lower than that shown in the price table. This saving will occur as long as you do not make any changes to the book from its first printing.
Payment
We require a deposit of 25% at the time of placing your order and submitting your text on disk, CD or as an email attachment.On completion of the proofing process we require a further 25% to proceed to the next stage, i.e. printing and binding.
When your books are completed we must have payment in full before they can be despatched.
